Capital Requiring Objectives
Below are a few of the additional things the Hub would like to do to enhance our service to the community.
-
Hire Staff To Expand Operations
The Hub is positioned to offer significantly more to community youth. However, each event needs to be planned, marketed, and supervised. At present, a group of volunteers take part in weekend entertainment, but they cannot always commit to other events. Additional capital will allow the Hub to hire the staff to necessary to implement new programs.
-
Develop Sand Volleyball Court
In the summer, young people look forward to enjoying outdoor activities. The field in front of the Hub is available to be used for a sand volleyball court. Several people and businesses have offered to contribute their time and labor. The greatest cost is the sand itself.
-
Build Special Gaming Room
A huge number of young people play online multi-player video games like Modern Warfare and Halo. The Hub would like to offer our guests a richer gaming experience for these types of games. By creating a special dark room complete with surround sound system, the Hub will be able to create a unique experience for gamers. The room will also allow the Hub to host special gaming tournaments and championships.
Building a designated game room will create additional space above the room that can be used as a loft. The loft will offer additional seating and enhance the overall look of the Hub café area.
-
Build And Furnish Green Room
The Hub would like to provide a designated Green Room for bands that will also serve as a backstage area. This will give the bands room to prepare themselves before going on stage. Plus, it will allow the Hub to create a better concert
experience by having the band out of sight until the show begins.
-
Update And Complete Computer Lab
The Hub’s computer lab is intended to provide workstations fully equipped with software for design, audio and video production, web browsing, and word processing. It’s meant to be a resource for students to complete school assignments and to work towards their own career goals. However, the lab is currently made up of outdated and unreliable machines. The Hub would like to purchase four new machines. With those in place, the Hub has been approved by TechSoup.org to purchase licensed, discounted software (as much as 90% discounts for qualified non-profit organizations).
